John's Wort is a beautiful, dense perennial shrub with bright yellow flowers. It's a native that is pretty much impervious to deer, salt, poor soil, and therefore super hardy and therefore highly recommended. Looks great in a border or planting bed, and goes with so many things it's hard to go wrong here. Also, it's threatened in NY and parts of NJ, so all the more reason to bring it into your garden.
